My July Playlist

It seems like a lot of you enjoyed my last playlist, so I’ve decided to do another!

You all know how much music speaks to me, so I think it’s really fun to share my monthly music faves with you, it’s like “back in the day” when you would be listening to a really great song, then would pop out one of your headphones and hand it to your friend, insisting that they listen.

My Spring Bucket List for 2018!

Hello, lovely readers!

It’s already April, which means Spring has arrived! Or for some of us, we’re still waiting for the official Spring weather through rain and snow.

Nonetheless, I believe that a Spring bucket list is necessary to help plan a great Spring time. I think we enjoy Spring so much because it’s like a premature Summer.

Even though it’s like Summer, it’s still not fully there yet which can be hard to try to find things to do.

So! I’ve put together a little list to help make your Spring more fun, eventful, and memorable! Let’s get right into it: Continue reading “My Spring Bucket List for 2018!”

Trying Uber!

It’s 2018, so I’m sure all of you have heard of Uber and what it does. It’s pretty much the modern day taxi. Anyone with a nice, clean running car can be a driver. Whether it’s driving full time, or just making extra cash, Uber has taken the world by storm. For today’s post, we’re going to to be taking a look at what it’s like to use Uber as a way to get around town.

Earlier this month, when Kolani and I were in Anaheim for Disneyland, we took 3 Ubers in total for our whole trip.

I’m going to break down each ride to give you a better feel for the situation.

First Ride: from LAX to the Disneyland Hotel (at around 1 am).

As soon as we landed, I pulled up the Uber app, to check out the waiting time. I was required not to to request the ride until I was waiting in the proper area. Kolani and I hadn’t checked any bags, so after we got off the plane, we headed straight to the specific baggage claim area the app instructed us to go to. We found the Uber pick up area outside on the curb and waited. I requested a driver who was estimated to be about 6 minutes out. Once you request a driver, the app will show you their picture, reviews, car model, and license plate. The gentleman was very nice, and helped us with our bags. He briefly made small talk, then had us on our way to the The Disneyland Hotel. I think the only downside of our drive from the airport to the hotel was the fact that the driver straddled lanes often. I know it was late, but I feel like if Uber drivers are required to work late shifts like that, then they should be fully awake and prepared.

Second Ride: to In N Out & the Hotel

Okay, out of all the drivers, this one was my favorite. He was very polite and personable. We headed to In N Out, because it was my first time back in California after two years so grabbing some burgers was a must. Our driver was super down to earth, and the drive from In N Out back to the hotel was barely 15$.

Third Ride: Back to LAX

This driver was my least favorite, his driving wasn’t all that great and he ended up making us a little car sick. He was short with us, a little rude, and his whole care smelled like Cigarettes. Just a tip for Uber: try not to hire smokers because the smell is disgusting and seriously overwhelming for nonsmokers. It wasn’t the best way to leave Los Angeles.

All in all, I think the experience was nice. I think as Kolani & I continue traveling, we’ll use Uber if we have no other form of transportation.

Beach Day, Spring is coming!

Seattle is famously known for its overcast rainy weather. People will easily turn their heads unable to imagine living in that kind of weather. But let me tell you, I grew up in sunny California, so to me the rain is fascinating and I appreciate it that much more when it happens.

BUT what a lot of other people don’t see is just how beautiful it gets up here during the Spring and Summer time. All that rain is honestly a blessing, because once this emerald city is sparkling again, it’s hard to see why others wouldn’t want to live here.

Recently, Kolani and I took Ava to a dog beach and she loved it. We’re trying to get her as used to the water as possible, because we’ll pretty much be living on the ocean during the summer.

Like look how beautiful this day was?! This makes me so beyond excited for summer time. Summer time up here is so gorgeous, Kolani and I practically lived at the lake last summer and this time we’ll have Ava by our side!

The Best Candle Ever

I’m sure all of you know how obsessed I am with candles.

They’re a necessity, in my opinion, to every household.

Candles provide such a cozy home feeling, and this one here is one of my favorite candles ever. It’s the Peace and Tranquility Candle by Chesapeake Bay.

Typically I would buy them at Target, but they were SOLD OUT at three different locations! So alas, Amazon has saved the day!

I love this candle so much because of it’s delicate fragrance. With subtle hints of cashmere and jasmine, it leaves my living room smelling dreamy.

You know it’s the best because it’s sold out almost everywhere! To get your hands on this irresistible candle, click the link below to order.

La La Land Live!

`February 14th, 2018 was Kolani and I’s second Valentine’s Day together. This year, he surprised me with tickets to the Seattle Symphony to see La La Land live at Benaroya Hall! I was so beyond excited, La La Land is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I couldn’t wait to go to the symphony.

Processed With Darkroom

Neither of us had been to Benaroya Hall before, and I was blown away as soon as we walked inside. They have a restaurant, a coffee shop, and a gift shop before you enter the actual music hall. The symphony is so visually stunning, I couldn’t stop staring at the architecture.

On the way into the hall, we walked past an open garage door and overheard some musicians rehearsing. We peered around the corner and learned that they were warming up for the La La Land concert! We got a quick little picture with them, and it’s honestly one of my favorite photos of us now.

We had AMAZING seats, I couldn’t have been happier with how everything panned out. The staff was friendly and there was a restroom and a bar on our tier level too! Another awesome bonus is that you could pre-order drinks for intermission-order them before the show, and they’ll be ready for you to enjoy at intermission, you won’t need to spend those 20 short minutes waiting in line for refreshments!

We had such a wonderful time, it was such a treat to watch the movie in such an incredible place, and hearing the music live was beautiful beyond words. The music in La La Land is indescribable and perhaps underrated.

I can’t wait to go back and see another show soon, we had such a lovely, magical Valentine’s Day.

My Favorite Body Wash!

Dove has always been my go to brand for almost ALL of my bathing/shower products. It has such a clean scent and I love how clean it makes me feel.

I decided to try their new Shower Foam and I’m obsessed! It’s the lightest, fluffiest body wash with absolutely no heavy residue. I can’t get over how fluffy it is, seriously it’s lighter than air!

The Perfect Travel Makeup Bag

I’ve grown to be a very picky person when it comes to beauty or fashion items on my wishlist. I’ve been searching for a small makeup bag to fit in my purse for a while. I never found a design I liked, and I didn’t want to pay to more than 10$ for a travel bag.

When I went to Target recently, I stumbled across this adorable little bag! It’s the exact size I was looking for and it was only 5.99! I don’t like to carry a ton of makeup with me, but mostly touch up/emergency items, (chapstick, blot sheets, tampons, aleve, hair ties, etc.)

I couldn’t find this exact bag online, but it’s available in store. You can shop others like it by clicking here.
