Taxi for Two: Why Traveling with Your Significant Other is Important

vitaminfresh.net

It’s undeniable to say that at one point or another, we’ve all dreamed of far away places. Maybe we dream just to see somewhere new, or maybe we dream to take a break from reality. Either way, once the travel bug has bitten you, an overwhelming sense of wanderlust will fill your soul, making you want to pack your bags and never come back.

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances_ if there is any reaction, both are transformed

I’m always so excited when I’m about to go on a trip, all these exciting thoughts start to flood my mind: what am I going to do, see, eat, hear? I think traveling is extremely crucial for us; we get to live in and experience other cultures. I think all that culture unites us and gives us a better understanding of one another. We become more competent and less ignorant.

Not only do you learn more about the world, but you also learn more about yourself. The same goes for traveling with your significant other. You see all different sides of each other, from the stress of planning to the utter bliss of soaking up the sun together.

Earlier this month, Kolani and I went to Disneyland for about four days. It wasn’t our first trip together, but it was our first flight together. It was honestly one the best vacations I’ve ever had. We were able to reminisce about being there when we were little kids. We made new memories, trying new restaurants, bars, and even playing arcade games for hours. I’ll tell you, when you’re sitting there with your love in a hot tub in sixty degree LA weather underneath the palm trees, nothing else seems to matter.

There will even be times when your trip won’t going perfectly. You could be jet lagged, hangry, or just tired from all the excitement. Hand in hand with a vacation in mind, you both will have to work and act like a team. You’ll need to budget, plan, save, etc. Not everything will be rainbows and butterflies, but it will be a great experience for you two to see how much work goes into traveling before the fun begins.

Being able to have that amazing little experience with someone special is priceless. I know Kolani and I will have plenty of more trips to come, but this one will always be one of my favorites.

Make sure to look at flights everyday, the prices always fluctuate!

And of course if the idea of planning a trip really overwhelms you, then I would recommend checking out my friends website. Lauren is behind the amazing travel agency Sweet Mun. One of my friends has used her talent to plan a trip to Europe and had nothing but great things to say, so definitely check it out!

Last Minute Gift Ideas for Him!

Valentine’s Day is literally just around the corner- but I guarantee I don’t need to tell you that, because if you are reading this, you’re probably sweating bullets thinking about good last minute gift ideas for the man in your life.

But don’t stress, I’m here to give you a few low budget ideas that your man will love. I wouldn’t worry about spending a lot of money on a present- it’s not about the money, it’s the thought that counts, and the right people will see that.

Here are my ideas:

  1. An actual Valentine – I actually did this for Kolani last year, and he loved it. It was super thoughtful, and I don’t think he expected me to put as much effort and time into it as I had. This is a super cute, simple idea for the casual couple. I roamed around the craft store in preparation and bought the necessities: scrapbook paper, glue sticks, sharpies, stickers, etc. I cut the paper into a heart and decorated the border with more tiny hearts. In the center of the heart, (I wrote in pencil first, in case of any mistakes), I wrote “Happy Valentine’s Day”. I then went over the writing with a nice thin sharpie. All in all, it was a beachy themed Valentine that he loved. It’s a perfect last minute idea and you won’t have to spend a lot of money!

  2. a Simple Accessory – Maybe your guy mentioned he needs a new wallet, or maybe he would like a new belt. Who knows, but remember the most important thing- men are simple. You won’t have to stress about a certain design or element, you can get him something incredibly plain and simple. I know that a tie or wallet is kind of cliche, but hell if that’s what he wants or needs then why not? I think it’s safe to say that Valentine’s Day mostly caters to women rather than men, so the fact that you would get him a gift would probably mean a lot more than you’d think. And honestly, I would consider looking around at Target (let’s face it, you’ll probably already be there, so why not get his gift, wrapping, and card all in one place?) Talk about efficiency. When Target recently underwent changes and added some new clothing lines, “Goodfellow & Co.” became the new men’s line. I got Kolani a new wallet from this brand and he loved the clean, simple design, with no logos. You can check out all the men’s accessories by clicking here.

3. Pinterest DIY Gifts – There are SO many cute ideas on Pinterest! All of these ideas are simple, affordable and undeniably charming. You can make things from love coupons to candy bouquets, to trips down memory lane. If you haven’t liked the previous suggestions, give Pinterest a try and check out all the cute DIY gifts!

4. Cooking Dinner – I think this one would be especially cute. Again, if you’re more of a casual couple and don’t have any set plans, this might be a good idea. Maybe you both have a favorite meal whether it be what you had on your first date or simply comfort food you both enjoy. You could take charge and cook dinner for him, or you two could team up and cook dinner together. I think if you guys cooked together it would be so romantic, and way more special than an expensive dinner in the city. You can rock out to music, have flirty food fights, and fall in love with each other all over again.

Whatever you decide to do, I’m sure you’ll have a happy and special Valentine’s Day. Just remember, that it’s not about creating a romantic extravaganza. Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love. Realizing how happy you two have made each other- that’s what you’re celebrating.

The Perfect Travel Makeup Bag

I’ve grown to be a very picky person when it comes to beauty or fashion items on my wishlist. I’ve been searching for a small makeup bag to fit in my purse for a while. I never found a design I liked, and I didn’t want to pay to more than 10$ for a travel bag.

When I went to Target recently, I stumbled across this adorable little bag! It’s the exact size I was looking for and it was only 5.99! I don’t like to carry a ton of makeup with me, but mostly touch up/emergency items, (chapstick, blot sheets, tampons, aleve, hair ties, etc.)

I couldn’t find this exact bag online, but it’s available in store. You can shop others like it by clicking here.

Bragi The Headphone Review

IMG_2116

For today’s post, I’m going to be reviewing my Bragi wireless headphones.

I got these headphones from Kolani as a Christmas present, so I’ve had these babies for nearly a month now, in which time I’ve gotten plenty of use out of them.

I had mentioned to Kolani how I was thinking about getting wireless headphones for a number of reasons. One of the most relatable reasons is because standard earphones almost always get tangled, (looking at you, Apple).

Although I had brought it up, I had never seriously looked into wireless headphones. Obviously Kolani looked into them for me and gifted me The Headphone, by Bragi.

In the beginning it was a little rough-the headphones kept falling out of my ears, constantly shifting. Included in the box were FitTips- Comply tips to be added onto the headphones, making them a perfect fit and far more comfortable.

Once adjusted, I was much more pleased with them. They fit in great and provided wonderful quality sound. Adjusting the settings, they can also be impressively noise cancelling. I often opt for the noise cancelling option, to block out the noise of the world and focus on my workout, writing, or whatever else I’m up to.

The battery life can last up to 6 hours. The headphones can be stored in a case that doubles as a charging port. Just slide the headphones into the magnetic case and plug the USB port into the wall to charge. The case also has a lanyard attached so you can wear the case around your neck while you have the headphones in. The case is fairly tiny, only about the length of an index finger and not too much wider.

Shortly afterwards, Kolani went out and bought himself a pair. He uses them for the majority of his shift while he’s working-and he works in construction so if that’s any consolation to their durability, I’d say they’re pretty reliable.

We bought ours at Brookstone, but you can also purchase yours here.

Parsons Teen Vogue Program Review

Hello everyone!

I’m so excited to share this video. As a lot of you know based on my recent posts, I’ve been attending an online Fashion Merchandising program through new school Parsons Teen Vogue. I’m happy to say that after a year of signing up, I have successfully graduated the program!

I now will have a certificate in Fashion Merchandising and I’m so proud. Honestly it feels like such an incredible accomplishment.

2017 proved to be the year of the woman and those feminist vibes are only growing stronger.

Oscar Wilde once said, “You can never be overdressed or over-educated,” a statement I still believe deeply in. So hears to learning, being a total boss babe and looking fabulous doing it.

In the mean time, here’s a little video reviewing my entire wonderful experience with Parsons Teen Vogue. I hope you enjoy it, and I also hope you will look into the school if you’re serious about a career in the fashion industry. Click the link to watch the video, and the link to apply for Parsons is in the description box.

Meet Ava!

Okay guys, I have something very exciting to announce.

This was incredibly hard to hide from my followers, but Kolani and I are getting a puppy!

By the end of the day, our little Auggie Ava will finally be at home with us. (she’s a mini aussie and corgi mix). We met her when she was just 5 days old, so it seems live we’ve been waiting forever to take her home. We got a surprise yesterday morning when the breeder said we could take her home a whole week early.

The day feels like it’s going to be so long, but so far it’s actually been going by pretty fast. As soon as the clock strikes 4, we’ll be picking up out little pup.

We are beyond ecstatic, as neither of us have had a puppy, and to have her here around the holidays is even more thrilling.

There’s definitely going to be some puppy spam and serious puppy vlogs!

Can’t wait for you all to meet her, we want her to have as many furfriends as possible.

love ya,

Chloe

For Vegas

BOB MARLEY

There are absolutely no words to describe the horror that happened in Las Vegas.

I find myself  lost in a chaos of thoughts, wondering what in the world could lead to such an indescribable, horrific event.

No words of comfort will ever be enough. Even if I were to write the most beautiful tribute to the victims; this piece in no way can we bring back the irreplaceable lives that were lost.

My heart is heavy, my mind is racing. No explanation can be formed. No one in their right mind would inflict so much pain and hurt on the world much less the families affected.

The only peace I could possibly have to offer, is that when horrific things like this do happen, we become so much closer together. We are  not strangers. We are all one. We send love, we grieve with you, we offer what ever we can. We remember who we are and realize all that we have taken for granted.

Because while this country is seemingly crumbling because of  hate, we remain united against acts of terror. Every honorable American understands that we are the United States of America, and if any act of terror attempts to dismantle that, we will take back what’s ours.

Every single damn person deserves peace, equality, and love.

Take a moment to reach out to all your dear friends and family, those whom you could not live without.

Tell them you love them.

We should not be afraid of dying because of living our life.

My heart goes out to all those affected and victimized by this attack.

Fuck terror.

The Chlolani Vlogs

FullSizeRender (4)

Hello everyone!

Here’s another little update about my vlogs. For nearly six months now, I’ve been dating this guy, Kolani. (He’s the fella pictured above with me). We’ve been vlogging together shortly after we started dating, and it’s only gotten better. We’ve been vlogging more and more, and it’s honestly one of the funnest things ever.

I have my own videos that I post regularly, but Kolani and I have our own little playlist we call “Chlolani”. We go out and about adventuring, we go paddleboarding, kayaking, and other fun activities. I’m hoping we get to go hiking and do other fun  outdoor activities as well. I’ve gotten a good response from them as well, so I  figured I’d share the link of my latest video with you all.

We don’t try to do anything in particular, and I mean that by we just pull out the camera whenever we’re having a great time in the sunshine or driving around. Just happy little moments that are fun to share.

So click the link below to watch the latest Chlolani video.

Hope you all enjoy!
