The Revolutionary Tampon

Let’s face it- that time of the month is never something us girls are excited about.

But imagine if you lived in a place where feminine products were nearly impossible to find-maybe even obsolete altogether.

My Fave Bloggers!

For most aspiring bloggers, it’s easy to agree that we were all inspired by one influencer or another. I don’t think we really wake up one day, declaring that blogging will be our profession. I think that we’re lured there by the beauty of the lives that our favorite bloggers live.

5 Things I do for an Organized Home!

Hello everyone, and welcome back!

Every time I begin a blog post and greet you guys, I read the welcome intro in a radio talk show host voice.

Does anyone else feel that way?

No? Okay, sorry…cause that’s probably the only way you’ll read it now.

Moving on!

3 Lifestyle Books You Have to Read NOW!

Spring has sprung, and around this time of year, I tend to find myself completely absorbed in Lifestyle or Self Help books.

I honestly don’t know why, maybe it’s the change of season.

So for today’s blog post, I’m going to share with you three of my absolute favorite lifestyle/self help books I’ve read.

  1. How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style and Bad Habits by Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret & Sophie Mas

I can’t remember how I found this book, but I’m so glad I did. Once I got my hands on a copy, I couldn’t put it down.  Obviously, this choice may be biased, because I’m absolutely obsessed with Paris and the French lifestyle. But this book is so unbelievably well written. It’s funny, helpful, and gives you the tips you need to be a chic madame.

2. Nice is Just a Place in France: How to Win at Basically Everything by The Betches

This book is definitely the most explicit out of this group. This hilarious book is written by the Betches, three kick ass female graduates from Cornell University. Their main objective is teasing the life millennials obsess over. You’ll laugh until you cry, so if you’re looking for a comical perspective on how to own your life, then this is the book for you.

3. What Would Audrey Do? by Pamela Keogh

In case you didn’t know, Audrey Hepburn was one of the classiest, most elegant lady who ever lived. So, when you’re looking for a self help book that’s dedicated to having style and grace, it’s a no brainer that Audrey would be the ultimate goal to strive towards. This is one of my favorite books ever, it’s a page turner and is beyond well written. I treasure this book, and I hope you do too.

Taxi for Two: Why Traveling with Your Significant Other is Important

vitaminfresh.net

It’s undeniable to say that at one point or another, we’ve all dreamed of far away places. Maybe we dream just to see somewhere new, or maybe we dream to take a break from reality. Either way, once the travel bug has bitten you, an overwhelming sense of wanderlust will fill your soul, making you want to pack your bags and never come back.

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances_ if there is any reaction, both are transformed

I’m always so excited when I’m about to go on a trip, all these exciting thoughts start to flood my mind: what am I going to do, see, eat, hear? I think traveling is extremely crucial for us; we get to live in and experience other cultures. I think all that culture unites us and gives us a better understanding of one another. We become more competent and less ignorant.

Not only do you learn more about the world, but you also learn more about yourself. The same goes for traveling with your significant other. You see all different sides of each other, from the stress of planning to the utter bliss of soaking up the sun together.

Earlier this month, Kolani and I went to Disneyland for about four days. It wasn’t our first trip together, but it was our first flight together. It was honestly one the best vacations I’ve ever had. We were able to reminisce about being there when we were little kids. We made new memories, trying new restaurants, bars, and even playing arcade games for hours. I’ll tell you, when you’re sitting there with your love in a hot tub in sixty degree LA weather underneath the palm trees, nothing else seems to matter.

There will even be times when your trip won’t going perfectly. You could be jet lagged, hangry, or just tired from all the excitement. Hand in hand with a vacation in mind, you both will have to work and act like a team. You’ll need to budget, plan, save, etc. Not everything will be rainbows and butterflies, but it will be a great experience for you two to see how much work goes into traveling before the fun begins.

Being able to have that amazing little experience with someone special is priceless. I know Kolani and I will have plenty of more trips to come, but this one will always be one of my favorites.

Make sure to look at flights everyday, the prices always fluctuate!

And of course if the idea of planning a trip really overwhelms you, then I would recommend checking out my friends website. Lauren is behind the amazing travel agency Sweet Mun. One of my friends has used her talent to plan a trip to Europe and had nothing but great things to say, so definitely check it out!

Last Minute Gift Ideas for Him!

Valentine’s Day is literally just around the corner- but I guarantee I don’t need to tell you that, because if you are reading this, you’re probably sweating bullets thinking about good last minute gift ideas for the man in your life.

But don’t stress, I’m here to give you a few low budget ideas that your man will love. I wouldn’t worry about spending a lot of money on a present- it’s not about the money, it’s the thought that counts, and the right people will see that.

Here are my ideas:

  1. An actual Valentine – I actually did this for Kolani last year, and he loved it. It was super thoughtful, and I don’t think he expected me to put as much effort and time into it as I had. This is a super cute, simple idea for the casual couple. I roamed around the craft store in preparation and bought the necessities: scrapbook paper, glue sticks, sharpies, stickers, etc. I cut the paper into a heart and decorated the border with more tiny hearts. In the center of the heart, (I wrote in pencil first, in case of any mistakes), I wrote “Happy Valentine’s Day”. I then went over the writing with a nice thin sharpie. All in all, it was a beachy themed Valentine that he loved. It’s a perfect last minute idea and you won’t have to spend a lot of money!

  2. a Simple Accessory – Maybe your guy mentioned he needs a new wallet, or maybe he would like a new belt. Who knows, but remember the most important thing- men are simple. You won’t have to stress about a certain design or element, you can get him something incredibly plain and simple. I know that a tie or wallet is kind of cliche, but hell if that’s what he wants or needs then why not? I think it’s safe to say that Valentine’s Day mostly caters to women rather than men, so the fact that you would get him a gift would probably mean a lot more than you’d think. And honestly, I would consider looking around at Target (let’s face it, you’ll probably already be there, so why not get his gift, wrapping, and card all in one place?) Talk about efficiency. When Target recently underwent changes and added some new clothing lines, “Goodfellow & Co.” became the new men’s line. I got Kolani a new wallet from this brand and he loved the clean, simple design, with no logos. You can check out all the men’s accessories by clicking here.

3. Pinterest DIY Gifts – There are SO many cute ideas on Pinterest! All of these ideas are simple, affordable and undeniably charming. You can make things from love coupons to candy bouquets, to trips down memory lane. If you haven’t liked the previous suggestions, give Pinterest a try and check out all the cute DIY gifts!

4. Cooking Dinner – I think this one would be especially cute. Again, if you’re more of a casual couple and don’t have any set plans, this might be a good idea. Maybe you both have a favorite meal whether it be what you had on your first date or simply comfort food you both enjoy. You could take charge and cook dinner for him, or you two could team up and cook dinner together. I think if you guys cooked together it would be so romantic, and way more special than an expensive dinner in the city. You can rock out to music, have flirty food fights, and fall in love with each other all over again.

Whatever you decide to do, I’m sure you’ll have a happy and special Valentine’s Day. Just remember, that it’s not about creating a romantic extravaganza. Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love. Realizing how happy you two have made each other- that’s what you’re celebrating.

This has been a chloscall.

Until next time,

Chloe
