I decided to try their new Shower Foam and I’m obsessed! It’s the lightest, fluffiest body wash with absolutely no heavy residue. I can’t get over how fluffy it is, seriously it’s lighter than air!

My January Favorites

Holy Moley how in the world is January already over?! I hope 2018 doesn’t continue to fly by, cause I have some big plans for this upcoming year.

For today’s post, I’m going to be sharing with you a list of products that I have enjoyed this month. The products will vary from skincare, to beauty, to household items. So without further ado, let’s get right into it.

Skin Care:

Neutrogena Deep Moisture Night Cream Okay, this has easily become one of my holy grail beauty products, it’s amazing! I started using this probably towards the end of December and I haven’t looked back. I was curious about night creams, as I feel like they were more of an old school beauty regimen. But this night cream works wonders, it has made my face so incredibly soft. I apply it once, in the evening before bed, all over my face and neck. What I really like about it is the fact that there’s no greasy feeling or heavy residue. I do love a lot of the Neutrogena products, I’m pretty sure that they were the first makeup brand I tried when I was first using beauty products. I would highly recommend this product, it has saved my skin during these dry winter months.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser is one of those products I haven’t used in a while and decided to go back to. Let me just say that it was a very smart move on my part. I don’t like to switch up my facial cleansers too often since it’s bad for your skin, but I had to. I was trying out a Biore cleanser prior to Cetaphil and it turned out to be WAY too harsh on my skin. Cetaphil is a gentle daily facial cleanser that is most likely an underrated drugstore beauty find. I’ve never had really any bad cystic acne; I’ve had breakouts of course and Cetaphil does an amazing job at keeping my skin clear. This has become another staple item in my skin care routine that I do not plan on parting with anytime soon.

Pond’s Hydrating Dry Skin Cream I’ve been using Ponds moisturizer for YEARS now. I used to use an Olay moisturizer but decided to switch to Ponds, because I found that the Olay moisturizer was too greasy. I use Ponds every morning, after I wash my face with Cetaphil, I spread a little over my face and neck. I’m a big believer in moisturizer, especially this time of year. Ponds has been around forever and if I’m able to use a beauty product that my grandmother used, you bet I’m going to be getting my hands on it.

Beauty:

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm – A classic item. It seems there is a theme here of moisturizing products in this blog post, but then again it is winter. Chapped lips are another one of my pet peeves, as I imagine a lot of people could agree, it’s just such an unsettling feeling. I got Burt’s Bees because I love how natural their products are. I got a pack of 2, so I could keep one in my purse and one in my vanity in the bathroom. There’s no heavy residue with this lip balm either, so it’s reliable and moisturizes well.

Pet:

Urine Destroyer – So I was going to add a link to this spray I’ve used for Ava’s messes, but Target doesn’t have it available on their website. It’s by the Target house brand up & up, and it’s labeled as a stain + odor eliminator. It’s a great product, and I would highly recommend checking it out next time you’re at Target. I’ve attached the link of a similar product.

Books:

Shopgirl by Steve Martin – This was a birthday present gifted to me by my sister. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I found myself struggling to get into the book at first; I didn’t really have an emotional connection with any of the characters so I wasn’t that invested. But halfway through, I found myself more interested in the outcome of the book; there were a few plot twists that had occurred and I was interested in seeing how everything would turn out. It’s also acknowledged that many twenty somethings are not going through the same romantic struggles as Mirabelle, seeing as it’s a bit unusual. If you’re in between books I’d suggest reading this one, since it’s only 130 pages and actually left me thinking about the story and the characters once I finished the novella.

Movies:

Me Before You – Alright ladies, you better grab some tissues cause you’re destined to shed some tears with this flick pick. As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t go out to the movies often, for a multitude of reasons (too pricey, loud people, the inability to pause for a bathroom break). It’s been on my list to see this movie just for kicks, and since I’m an Amazon Prime member, the movie is free to watch. To be honest, I really enjoy movies like this one. The story is set around two characters, Louisa Clark and Will Trainor. Louisa is that charming, quirky girl who everyone can’t help but love. Will is a thrill seeker turned bitter paraplegic after a horrific accident. Sure, the two characters seem far from similar but by the unwritten rules of the romantic comedy world, these two end up as star crossed lovers. It reminds me a lot of the movie If I Stay , another one of my absolute favorite movies. I think the plot of these movies remind the audience that you need to be grateful for what you have, because in a minute, everything can change.

Stardust – This movies is FANTASTIC. If you’re finding yourself stuck on the couch with your significant other unable to pick a movie to watch, then you’re in luck (this movie used to be included on Amazon Prime, but now it’s available on Netflix, so you’re welcome). This movie has everything to entertain both parties; romance, adventure, fantasy, action, and great humor. The story follows Tristan, a young man who wishes to cross a forbidden wall into a magical universe in order to find a shooting star that has fallen out of the sky, and bring it back to his love Victoria. He has one week to do so, and it’s safe to say Tristan wasn’t prepared for the adventure that awaited him..and neither are you.

Food:

3 Ingredient Crockpot Chicken Tacos! Yes, this month I’ve enjoyed this easy crockpot recipe so much! Definitely check it out if you haven’t yet, and be prepared for more yummy recipes coming soon.

House:

Zuede Silicone Sponges – I wrote about these earlier, but they are a very interesting product and wonderful to use. Click the link to read the full review and get a pair!

Technology:

Bragi The Headphone Review – It’s been a little over a month since I first got these, and they’ve been great. Click the link to read the full review and grab yours!

Samsung Chromebook – If you’re in need of a new laptop (bonus if you’re anti Apple products) then this might be the laptop for you. I got this laptop in early January and I’ve become obsessed with it. It’s small, sleek, light and fast. Good news is, it’s not going to break the bank either as it’s UNDER 200$! Better hurry though, there aren’t many left on Amazon. I’ll be posting a full review soon.

I hope you guys have all enjoyed my January favorites!

Bragi The Headphone Review

IMG_2116

For today’s post, I’m going to be reviewing my Bragi wireless headphones.

I got these headphones from Kolani as a Christmas present, so I’ve had these babies for nearly a month now, in which time I’ve gotten plenty of use out of them.

I had mentioned to Kolani how I was thinking about getting wireless headphones for a number of reasons. One of the most relatable reasons is because standard earphones almost always get tangled, (looking at you, Apple).

Although I had brought it up, I had never seriously looked into wireless headphones. Obviously Kolani looked into them for me and gifted me The Headphone, by Bragi.

In the beginning it was a little rough-the headphones kept falling out of my ears, constantly shifting. Included in the box were FitTips- Comply tips to be added onto the headphones, making them a perfect fit and far more comfortable.

Once adjusted, I was much more pleased with them. They fit in great and provided wonderful quality sound. Adjusting the settings, they can also be impressively noise cancelling. I often opt for the noise cancelling option, to block out the noise of the world and focus on my workout, writing, or whatever else I’m up to.

The battery life can last up to 6 hours. The headphones can be stored in a case that doubles as a charging port. Just slide the headphones into the magnetic case and plug the USB port into the wall to charge. The case also has a lanyard attached so you can wear the case around your neck while you have the headphones in. The case is fairly tiny, only about the length of an index finger and not too much wider.

Shortly afterwards, Kolani went out and bought himself a pair. He uses them for the majority of his shift while he’s working-and he works in construction so if that’s any consolation to their durability, I’d say they’re pretty reliable.

We bought ours at Brookstone, but you can also purchase yours here.

Why You Need to Visit Green Lake

Welcome back to my blog!

In today’s post, I wanted to write about a little gem located right here in the pacific northwest. If you’re planning a trip to Washington, this is one underrated place you might have not considered visiting.

When I plan trips, I usually have a little mental list of all the things I’d like to see or all things I’d like to do while I’m there. I don’t believe in planning out your entire day each day you are there-I think it sucks the fun out of exploring and enjoying the trip.

I understand that if you’re visiting Seattle, you’ll want to see the Space Needle or Pike’s Place. But, if you have a day to roam around and a couple hours to kill, I would suggest Green Lake.

Green Lake is such a beautiful sight to see with fun surrounding must-see sights like the Woodland Park Zoo or the Fremont Troll. If you’re visiting in the winter time, you’ll definitely need to bundle up, because this five mile walk is going to get cold fast. Don’t be intimidated by the five miles, it’s incredibly enjoyable.

You’ll see everyone there- couples, old friends, kids, dogs, and plenty of foreign tongues buzzing past you that you’ll think you’ve succumb to circling a melting pot. There are people long boarding, cycling, and rollerblading too. I love all the diversity and variety of people you see here.

If you have the luxury, the best time to visit would be the summer time. It’ll be packed, but it’s easy to see why. The lake is filled with people kayaking and paddle boarding. The nearby grass area is crowded with people lounging in hammocks, playing volleyball, barbecuing, and basking in the Seattle summer sun.

Surrounding the lake, there are the most charming neighborhoods that are destined to give you a slight urge to pack your bags and move there. There are coffee shops, ice cream shops, and few restaurants all giving a pleasant, “life is good” experience.

The only slight downside of the park is that the parking lot provided is almost laughable, only 3-4 rows for visitors. But no need to panic just yet, there is plenty of street parking nearby. You might have to walk a little, but hey if it means napping in hammock for a few hours who cares?

The photos I’ve featured above are from the walk Kolani, Ava & I took the other day. It was Ava’s first time there, and I was so excited for her. She met so many pups and had a ball. Also, I snapped a couple of quick shots from the views of the docks I walked out on.

It was gorgeous and still, the lake was filled with ducks and geese alike and I guarantee if it had been just a little warmer out, Ava would have jumped right in.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Don’t forget to follow my blog to receive updates on future blog posts!

Central Perk

IMG_2012

Hello everyone and happy Monday!

In light of the face that today is one of the most dreaded days, I decided to share with this adorable central perk mug.

I have quite an eclectic collection of mugs, and this is just one of the many. I’ve picked up some from my travels, some I couldn’t live without, and some desperately in need to be kept in my cupboard.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the last twenty years or so, you might not know where the Central Perk is a reference from, but the majority of you do. Central Perk is the fictitious coffee shop from the iconic sitcom FRIENDS.

I picked this mug up at Francesca’s, and you can gets your online here.

So drink up, friends, cause coffee will be there for you!

See what I did there?

Spring Nails

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Smartease 400

For this recommendation, I’m sharing with you one of my favorite nail colors for spring.

I’ve always had such a great experience with Miracle Gel by Sally Hansen. The nail polish is a wonderful quality and never fails me.

The color pictured above is Smartease 400, and I love whipping this out when Spring is just around the corner. This beautiful shade of pink reminds me of all the beauty in spring; pretty flowers, fresh fruit and bright sunny days.

2018 Blog Goals

developmenT (2)

Hello everyone!

First off, I just wanted to wish you all a belated happy new year! It’s always so nice to recharge after the holidays and have fresh start to a new year.

With that being said, I’m sure a lot of you have set goals for  yourself this year, as have I. There are plenty of things I wish to accomplish this year, and improving my blog is one of them. Each year, I look over my content to see how it can be better. I compare, I research, but most importantly I watch what you guys respond best to.

So in addition to the upcoming improvement, I also would like to thank each and every one of  you who have supported me. With your likes, comments, and follows, I have become a better blogger, a better writer, and more attentive to what will be great, enjoyable content.

So obviously, the overall theme here is that there will be some exciting changes coming up. No need to worry though,  think of these upcoming changes as more of a remodeling, if you will.

I’m so excited for this new year and can’t wait to see how you guys respond to the future iamfashioncoco.

None of this would be possible without you.

Thank you all again, love you so so much.

Until next time,

Chloe
