Weight loss: long time no talk!
I’m just going to be upfront about, I haven’t weighed myself in a couple months, and honestly for many different reasons.
Many trainers will always tell you not to put a lot of thought into the number you see on your scale while your making progress, because a lot of what you’ll see is muscle gain but you’ll believe it to the weight of fat, as if you’re not making any progress.
Although I completely understand that, and tried to keep that in mind, I was finding myself obsessing over the number I saw below my toes. It was taking the fun out of working out.
I was having negative thoughts like why wasn’t I seeing a difference? I’d been working so hard it wasn’t fair. I cut foods out, I workout nearly 5-6 days a week, how could this be??
So I stopped weighing myself. Regardless of what the scale said, I could see a difference not only in a toner figure, but also my strength.
And because I’m not typically a super active person, I’ve been mixing up my workouts a lot to keep myself entertained and interested with working out. I’ve done virtual spin classes, Chloe Ting workouts, and virtual pilates and yoga classes.
Each different type of workout has challenged my body in different ways, and it’s been great to see all the differences that’s happened with my body.
On top of working out, I decided to try out weight loss supplements. I found some on amazon that had great reviews; the supplements claimed to be a sleep aid and weight loss supplement, so what could be better than that?
I’d only been taking it for about 3-4 days, and while I saw a difference already physically, (nothing crazy), I noticed that it wasn’t helping me sleep, it started turning my palms yellow, and I had the slightest irritation around my mouth. So I stopped taking those, obviously, lol.
But, I was still interested in trying something I could take that would help benefit my weight loss while also being safe. So I decided to pick up the slimfast powder. I’ve read really great things about it, so I’m excited to give that a try! I’ll post another update soon once I’v started trying it out.
