Kristen Ess Signature Gloss Review

I have never used any products on my hair other than shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, etc. Although I’ve never dyed my hair, I’ve gotten a few balayage treatments done and I became obsessed. I was supposed to have a hair appointment a couple weeks ago, but obviously it was cancelled.

So, because of being stuck and home and having a cancelled hair appointment, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I’m a big fan of Kristin Ess products; they’re clean, sulfate free and cruelty free. So when I came across her range of Signature Glosses, I figured I’d give one a try.

I chose the Crystal Quartz “color” because it was clear, and I didn’t want to even attempt to dye my own hair at home, (no thanks, not for me). This product promises shiny, soft, healthy looking hair. You have the option to keep this product on from 10-20 minutes, the longer you leave it on, the shinier it will be.

Speaking as someone who has never done any sort of boxed hair treatment at home, this was incredibly easy to follow. The only thing I would have to recommend, is to get a shower cap if you don’t have one already. The box comes with gloves for applying, but no shower cap. If you’re like me and want to leave it on for 20 minutes, I think a shower cap would be handy to let your hair rest in.

I totally forgot to take a before photo of my hair, and realized it literally as I was getting my hair wet. This is a photo of my hair earlier in the day, before testing the signature gloss product.

After wetting my hair, I combined the activator and the gloss together, shaking gently, then applying it to my hair and leaving it on for 20 minutes.

After the 20 minutes were up, I washed my hair with my Kristen Ess shampoo and conditioner. I immediately noticed how soft my hair felt just after washing. I then dried my hair with my Revlon Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer.

This is how my hair turned out.

Keep in mind, I haven’t been to the salon since early March, so my ends look a little frayed lol. But, I LOVE the way my hair turned out! It’s significantly softer and much shinier. Best part is, it’s only 14$ at Target to get this little boost that will last 4-6 weeks.
