I’ve been getting a lot of requests for this blog post and I’m very excited to write it.
As I’ve mentioned before on my Instagram posts, I’ve started taking the time to put more effort into my skin care routine. I used to wash, cleanse, moisturize, repeat. Never really changing anything up besides the occasional peel off masks I’d use during an at home spa day.
But then when this summer came around, there was a little curious voice in my head that said “go for it Chloe, check it out.” And so I did.
So I ditched my seemingly boring skin care for a more “advanced” routine, if you will. When I did look into natural skin care, I wasn’t looking at every single thing people had been swearing by. I didn’t fall for the ads or sponsored posts, but more personal recommendations from several sources that urged me try a certain product.
Also, I was really examining my skin, looking at what I wanted to improve. After much research and almost a month of trying out this new routine, I have noticed incredible results. Let’s get to the products!
I’m ashamed to admit that I never thought to try rose water for beauty purposes let alone any purpose at all. But this stuff is great, I mist it onto my face and hair plenty of times throughout the day. It’s a gray moisturizer, toner and a great alternative spray for setting your makeup! It smells wonderful, (like roses, duh), and also has great benefits for your hair! I like to spritz it on my hair after I’ve brushed it, or when I get out of the shower.

+ Vitamin E Oil
This oil is also a wonderful multiple use tool as well. I primarily add a few drops to my fingertips, then massage it into my hair, scalp, and the ends of my hair, since it promotes hair growth (I’ve already noticed a difference in my hair, it’s thicker, longer and much shinier!) Every now and then I’ll massage some onto my face as well, for a beautiful glow.

+ Tea Tree Oil
All of these products have worked wonders on my skin, although my skin wasn’t too bad to begin with. I’ve never had cystic acne or anything of the sort, but the main reason I wanted to pull out all the stops for skin care now was for a few reasons. I wanted to feel more confident with my skin, and I also wanted to take the initiative now and think of my skin about ten years from now, imagining if I would be happy with how it looked if I hadn’t put more effort into self care. Anyway, tea tree oil has been absolutely AMAZING for my dark spots. That was one of my biggest flaws, I hated all the dark spots or scars I had, they made me feel less confident. I still have a little ways to go, but this oil has already reduced the appearance of markings significantly. I’m so happy with the results that I am seeing!

+ Castor Oil
I use castor oil for eyelash and eyebrow growth. Once again, this oil has worked wonders too. My eyelashes are fully and my eyebrows have grown thicker, which was good for me. I have very “thin” eyebrows in the sense that there isn’t a lot of hair which is why I always fill them in. Ultimately my goal with using all these oils is to look as naturally beautiful as possible. And it works. I’ve only been using these products for a month and already feel like a princess.

+ Witch Hazel
Witch Hazel is also another great product for acne scars and dark spots. You could even use it on stretchmarks if you wanted! It evens skin tone, making your skin glow. During the summer, I combined 1 part witch hazel with 1 part aloe vera, rubbing into my arms and legs daily, especially those days spent in the sun. Even though summer is long gone, it really did make my skin glow, and still does to this day!

+ Vaseline Lotion
Girl, you know what time of year it is. No, not the fall, but dry skin season. Having that in mind, why wouldn’t you be moisturizing? It’s so important, and leaves your skin healthy, glowing and soft.

+ Stretch Mark Lotion
This one is pretty self explanatory but nonetheless important. Almost all of us have stretch marks which 100% okay, don’t get me wrong. I’ve mentioned before that since moving up to Washington, I had gained a little weight which was very weird to me. I was always super tiny throughout middle school and high school, so to be suddenly curvy in two years was a bit of an adjustment. With the fluctuation my weight, stretch marks became a little more apparent. To reduce the appearance, I decided to try stretch mark lotion and it has definitely helped!
+ Aloe Vera
I became a huge fan of aloe vera during the early parts of summer. This product also has multiple uses which I love. It’s a moisturizer, stretch mark reducer, pimple preventer and skin brightener, just to name a few. It has definitely played a part in leaving my skin with a gorgeous glow and evenly toned.

+ Himalayan Body Scrub
I’ve used this scrub multiple times now and I absolutely love it. It smells delicious, reduces cellulite, leaves my skin softer than a baby’s butt AND leaves me glowing. One of my favorite parts about this scrub is that it’s not tested on animals. You gotta love that!
I also want to say that choosing to use all these products was my own decision. I don’t care what anyone else thinks of my body, because it is my body. My interest in having a more advanced skin care routine was strictly to boost my confidence. I wanted myself to look healthy, I wanted to feel healthy, and I wanted to feel beautiful. I don’t think that taking care of yourself or going the extra mile to invest in self love is shameful. It’s actually rather admirable, if you ask me.
This has been a chloscall.
If you try any of these products or have a story about self love, let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear about it. 🙂
Until next time,
