Dark, cold, intriguing, a tad creepy.
These are just a few words to describe the historical preservation that is Fort Casey.
A couple weekends ago, Kolani and I made the long drive out to Whidbey Island because 1. We love to adventure together and 2. I had never been out there, let alone to Fort Casey.
I’m not gonna lie, I am a little disappointed I hadn’t gone around October-this would have been a perfect, slightly spooky trip for Halloween.
Built in 1897, Fort Casey now stands as a historical preservation for curious minds and brave souls. Previously occupied by eager young soldiers in training during World War I and World War II, Fort Casey has become a must see destination for your Washington Sightseeing.
You can explore everything to your hearts content- the cannons, the lighthouse down the road, and even the pitch black rooms- if you dare.
If you’re looking for a fun family day, then definitely plan on visiting Fort Casey.
You can bring the kids, your pup, fly kites, and have a blast!
