For today’s post, I’m going to be blogging about one of Portland’s hot-spots, Voodoo Doughnuts.
When one hears of Portland, they might think of: hipster city, great farmers markets, Powell’s bookstore, and, of course Voodoo Doughnuts.
This is definitely a hot-spot place, so if you’re planning on visiting, I would definitely make this your first stop in the morning. There are always going to be lines, no matter what time you go. The only thing I could possibly suggest is to get there right before or at opening.
I haven’t decided whether or not this place would be considered kid friendly. The whole place itself is rather whimsical. However, there are some pretty explicit items (penis shaped doughnuts and crude bumper stickers). As long as you have a good sense of you humor, you’ll have a fun time at this quirky spot.
The doughnut I’m munching on above is the classic voodoo doughnut. I’m more of a traditionalist, so I decided to try this classic doughnut that had an edgy twist to it.
I absolutely love visiting big cities. There’s so much to explore, so much culture to experience, and so many adventures to have. But it’s not just the hustle and bustle of these cities that make them as popular as they are- it’s the quirky spots. The little boutiques, coffee shops, taprooms and the history of these cities is what I love to breathe in.
If you find yourself in Portland, definitely make a stop at Voodoo Doughnut’s.
This has been a chloscall.
Until next time,
